For Reverend D '05

Inspiration driven riding down
dirty steet's sins
Tijuana by bike: Peligro! pues hombre...
sunshine state westcoast
I still live in California
just on the otherside
that notherside
where dreams are nitemarish outstretched
raw and open
tourist scurringby pressed for time buying the Mexico experience.

Mexico
or that bordertown ambience where the mix is itself
a small component shifting your gears climbing fences
your eyes pop from the haze flying down backsides

downhill bride's maid
beyond cross country riding but not ready for prime time
for my brother of the wheel

we pray our actions out on city streets hostile breath
exhausting smoke cloudy headed riding in traffic
splitting lanes making time opportunities
eyes open alert belting out heartbeats
putting time on the machine of the 20th century

clogging arteries oil addict stroke
choked in gridlock
I'm moving on my way
past your mirrors and smoke

so an advantage of tijuana white boy street dance
saints like Guadalupe protect el ciclista guero
that I am in land of dark dominant gene
I stick out like my kid's sore thumb
Argentine passport living on the outside
the land of the free keeps my family at bay
one of many in this town
happy we can be in this mess family in tact
working like the rest of vast majority worldwide
trying to get back inside.
