his birthday is days away
we share a poem
write it down
and put it out

it doesn't matter how it's done
grammar aside
no sense can be made of certain
lines and words

meaningless and efficacious

overwhelmed, outnumbered, encumbered
the struggle to keep rails
and train on the same
it's cold in here
so long to have a ground
a deep ass ground going way down
support in some familiar, reassuring solid
where rest is possible
take a breath

the quit
there it was powerless
unconnected
restricted and rejected
time to put an end to it
put it down and
get out

falling down
frustrated for all the wrong reasons
leaving yourself behind
lacking respect
must redirect

inside there are parts
still working
filling out the space
putting things in their place
cant feel my insides tho
is it really time to go

force the issue
put paid to negative ideas
set up a pace
resolve this space
keep it grounded

rebound it
pass this down the trail
move on doctor
keep the train on the rail
the mind is a terrible thing.

when walls are closing in
the bottom drops out
people squeezed
people falling

decisions to make
limited options
stuck on the treadmill
running ever harder
running faster
running for your life

pulled into the raging
sea of humanity
washing up on
first world beaches
bleaching skin
suntan lotion

there are troubles everywhere
they keep you occupied
running on the treadmill
sitting into the shining square light
eating yourself to death
picking you own favorite variety poison
